Social Networks: not so open
I recently joined Twitter, Xing, Jaiku and OpenCoffee and in each case I had to recreate my social network manually by inviting the very same people to join me on the latest greatest new social network. I would love to have exported my XFN/FOAF network from one of my sites like LinkedIn and then uploaded it e.g Twitter would then automatically check to see which of my existing contacts was already registered with Twitter and enable me to reconnect quickly with them. The remainder my social network that was not already on Twitter would then get an invite form created from me asking them to join.
Bedenkenswert.

Good point. Over on Jaiku we wanted to make it easy to check if any of your contacts are already members, since it’s so annoying to have to invite everyone by hand. You can currently run a check on your contacts in .csv and .txt formats (or against tiyr GTalk/JAbber/Hotmail account) and we’re working to support other formats too. Exporting’s stil on the todo list.
